A 16-yr-old girl burned & left nearly deaf in her left ear.

A filmmaker shot through his gas mask and into his eye w/ a pepper ball.

A longtime activist's elbow snapped in half while walking away.

A volunteer medic shot in the chest w/ tear gas.



My colleagues @noellecrombie, @k_rambo_ and I talked profiled 8 people seriously injured by police (local and federal) while attending protests in Portland this month. They each shared their stories and photos with us.


One woman was running from police, trying to obey a dispersal order.

Another was looking down at his phone.

One woman was standing still at the fence.

One man was standing after bending to check on another protester.

All were seriously hurt by police or federal officers.

4. The administration wants more protests

they are deliberately provoking outrage on the left while getting more support from the right. They are promoting the false story that liberal cities are out of control and only brutality can restore law and order.

Like when they did this to undocumented immigrants over the last 3.5 years, the cruelty is the point. CBP, ICE, etc. have plenty of practice abusing impoverished Central American refugees and are now coming for white liberals.

As if the US federal government doesn't have decades of training and expertise on how to peacefully deescalate protests around the world. This is deliberate.
