I also will not use any demeaning words referring to the vagina, or anything associated with it(d-bag), against men or women. I am completely sick of that as it's misogynistic.

People are using F as the all purpose verb, S as the all purpose noun, and F-ing as the all purpose adjective. I don't think they would speak that way if they understood that those are just placeholders that show a lack of thought. They need to be a lot more creative than that. I think people should use creative insults and foreign languages to cuss.

My parents were the parents of the boomers. They absolutely freaked out over the word "shit" when I was a kid. I never used those words and never heard them either, until I was grown. Now that I'm old, I agree with them that using those words shows a lack of imagination.

George Carlin explained why the words were bad in the famous Seven Dirty Words sketch. It was the subject of a Supreme Court case, FCC versus Pacifica, where a man was driving in his car in the afternoon, heard the sketch and sued Pacifica. The Supremes said it was not obscene because it was explaining why those words were bad. It led to the imposition of late night hours for adult oriented material.

When I was young (60s and 70s) the parental generation lost their minds over "shit" and it was unthinkable to say the other words. My parents would never use those words. They managed to express their frustrations well using bastard, bitch, son of a bitch, hell and goddamn and godforsaken. We didn't say "fuck off". That was unthinkable. We said "Go to hell". Got the idea across.

I once had to tell a young stand up comedian, "Shit and fuck are NOT funny. You can't say those words just to get a laugh. You have to have actual meat to your material that is funny." I have turned off Gotham Comedy more than once when guys just talk about gross sexual stuff that probably nobody wants to hear. It's not funny anyway.

In the meantime, I think people should resurrect archaic insults and use foreign languages.
Blackguard! Whoremonger! Trollop! Strumpet! Figlio da putana! Heilege-fliegende-kinder-scheisse!! (I made up that last one myself and I don't even speak German.)

I don't like it being used as a noun or an adjective.
It's a verb and I don't like it being used as verb, especially in public and around kids.

Going to ball games, I hear fans using it all the time. I'd stand up and just tell them
"There are kids around". They know what I'm saying.

My daughter used it in a conversation we had recently and I jumped down her throat for using it.
She's 22 years old. I told her, I can't stop you from using it, but don't use it around me.
And if you're using it around me, you're using it more when I'm not around.

It's use is unprofessional, no matter what the circumstances.
If the act of having sex is personal and private, then the noun describing that act should be personal and private.

That's how I feel.

Public use of the word - like a sign on one's vehicle - is unprofessional without a doubt.

How we use these words in private with close friends is one thing. But displaying it right out in public is still an affront. I guess I'm an old-fashion girl.

He tried to include it in his writings, to lend authenticity to the way people actually speak in real life. But he had a hard time even typing out the word.

One day, he rolled a fresh sheet of paper into his typewriter (this was a few decades ago) and wrote it out, filling the whole page, no spaces in-between each four-letter sequence, top to bottom.

When he was done, the word had lost its power. He had demystified it.

What mystifies me is that there are people out there that don’t seem to know how to communicate with any other words. I once heard a guy at the beach close to us speaking to a friend, and his story made absolutely no sense because every other word was f f f f f f f. And pretty soon he just stopped and stared straight ahead as if even he had forgotten the point of his story. So yeah, his brain was thoroughly demystified.

means that someone has a 'weak mind'? How insulting.

First of all, judge not, least you be judged.

I also would say that those that rise too rapidly to negatively describe others as 'weak minded' in using such 'inappropriate' words have no right to judge others, none what-so-ever, and it grieves me to hear of such attempts to silence people, on DU, who may not have the education that some of us may been lucky to have (the MBAs, the multiple degrees, etc.).

IMHO, it's far more important to me to hear someone's opinion other than how they spell or say something (the opinion is far more important than the delivery mechanism). Most people get the point that the person is attempting to make, and that's the critical, most important point.

Unfortunately, I've got a neighbor down the road who had a Trump-JFK, Jr. 2020 sign in his pick up truck's back window.

I did a bit of reading on this and the idiots who read QAnon, think that JFK Jr. never died and he's been hiding out in Pennsylvania for nearly 20 years and that he's a big Trump supporter.

WOW!
