How Soon Will You Request Your Ballot???

My sister said that there is no such thing as "too soon" and that we should request our absentee ballots today.

Do you agree?

BTW: My mail is sporadic, doesn't come every day, doesn't get picked up every day. I've been waiting for a package for over a week.

If I was voting absentee, I would request my ballot now.

complete an application online or request the application. That part of the process you should do asap. That doesn't mean you get the ballot right away. States send them out at a specified time before the election, allowing you plenty of time to return or to drop it off if you so choose.

St. Louis County BOE did a wonderful job for those of us over 65 and sent out all the ballot requests when the April Primary was delayed. I voted in our State Primary two weeks ago and as soon as the November ballot shows up, it will be filled out and hand delivered to the BOE offices.

since we haven't had either convention, I don't think they can be printed yet?

voting absentee and dropping off the ballot at the election authority early leaves me open to help with phones or driving voters that need rides to the polls

I requested the primary ballot and the GE ballot on line at the same time at least a month ago, as soon as the request was allowed. I got the primary ballot in the mail about a week later, filled it out and sent it in (the primary is on Aug. 11). They will send me the GE ballot in September and just to be on the safe side I'll hand-deliver it to the proper location as soon as it's allowed.

Anyway, the ballots will arrive without our having to request them. We've already been contacted to make sure the address on our record is actually our address. It is.

I plan to fill mine out and hand deliver it to a ballot box at one of the nearby polling places.

But no one has ever checked to be sure we were at our address before sending out our ballots. Could there be a difference in county procedures? We’re in OC and at the same address for over 30 years.

The ballots haven't been printed yet. You can request them now but you are still going to have to wait until the ballots are printed and ready to be mailed to you.

And when the time gets closer, I can check the elections board website to see when my ballot is mailed out to me.

For any Wisconsinites who are unfamiliar with the website, here it is.

https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/

You can check your registration and voter history and request absentee ballots.

Our plan is to fill them in promptly and drop them off at the County collection center.

I agree, if you’ve decided to vote by mail, you should take care of that right now with your County Registrar of Voters.

Dallas is very good about this, and once I have voted absentee (as I did in the Texas primary), I get all other election ballots for that year sent to me in Germany about 5 weeks in advance of each election.

We got our mailing Monday.
The earliest date to mail in a ballot in Sept 24, so I'll send it in this week.
Should get the ballots in 2 weeks. (Per state website). Then I'll mail them on 9/24.
Geez, I can fill out both. My wife & I are voting straight D anyway!
Or, she could fill out mine, & vice versa. The votes are going to be the same anyway.
