(5,477 posts)That's why they ALWAYS call it a 'payroll tax cut' instead of what it really is.
Don't let them co-opt the language. Any time I hear some talking about a 'payroll tax cut' I ask, "Oh, don't you really mean cutting Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment insurance?"
Sometimes a little glimmer of realization happens.
