Because the previous Board -- ALL MEN -- tried to ram an $18,000 special assessment through the neighborhood for roofing and siding. The "Karens" rose up, and three of the asshole men walked off the job. The three Karens now serve. We don't give a shit about your pink flamingos, but we do care when someone(s) is trying to scare us out thousands of dollars.
