General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI stopped at an auto supply store looking for a windshield sunshade.
There were two men working there. Neither wore a mask. Neither said anything to me, not can I help you, kiss my foot, etc.
I found some of those sunshades in a rack fairly close to the front of the store and was looking at them.
One of the men, who was behind the counter, coughed several times and then started fooling with something.
I got the hell out of there. Its a cloudy day anyway. Ill get the sunshade later on.

(31,110 posts)City of Greenville SC passed an ordinance:
(Article is from June 24, 2020)
Greenvilles law lasts for up to 60 days and requires customers of grocery stores and pharmacies in the city to wear a mask. It also requires employees of restaurants, retail shops, salons and barbershops in the city to wear masks.
The store was OReilly auto parts. OReilly started in MO And is pretty much National now.

(5,168 posts)Those employees were supposed to be wearing masks, per corporate orders. Even if there was no local or state mask orders, they were in violation. The corporate order came down in April. I had to help my ex buy a sewing machine so she could make masks to wear to work, then she has made all of us masks in the family. She has made masks for most of her co-workers too. They are wearing their masks.

(146,286 posts)Let them know your experience and where the store is located. Tell them that you left the store without making a purchase due to the lack of masks on employees. Corporate will send a nastygram to that store's management and explain the company's mask policy. They'll also explain that they don't like losing customers in their stores.
That is how you do it. It works.

then again, we here in South Texas are one of the current hotspots in the nation and the message seems to have gotten through to the large majority of residents here, even the Trumpers

(82,849 posts)Tell them that you appreciate their store observing the safety measures. It lets the suits know that you notice this stuff, and a compliment is a good way to keep them doing the right thing.

(13,546 posts)I'm not going into any stores unless it's absolutely positively necessary. (For example, I had to go into a grocery to get dry ice during a refrig. change over.)
What I don't get on mail order I get curbside.

(3,212 posts)I was down at a store in my car pool buddy's town. He had highly recommended it. A little locally owned hardware store where they have everything stocked up and know where everything is. I saw two employees without masks behind the counter.
I turned around, left, and went to Lowes.

Lets all fight back. The most important thing to any company is keeping the customers coming in the door.

(7,572 posts)about my vow to not shop at places that refuse to mandate masks for their employees, and even better insist that shoppers wear them. They can't afford to lose sales at this point.

(9,259 posts)Eastern Auto Parts Warehouse. Philly and south Jersey locations. All employees and customers are required to wear masks unless they are working in a room alone. He has asked several customers to leave, nothing ugly (yet). I agree with others advice, email their corporate offices.

(2,193 posts)State mandate to wear masks inside any business. I went to local hardware store, sign says "no mask no service, I go in and the first thing I see is the proprietor with no mask, I asked him about that and he said I could take mine off if I wanted to... that ends my business in that store forever...

(26,068 posts)Over 30 years of driving. Ever. I get what I can on Amazon, or at Target or Lowes. Or even at the dealership. If I can;t, then I will go to an Auto Zone, etc. They suck, and if you are able to even get them to answer a question, they aren't helpful.
