Iowa City School Districts asks permission to engage in remote learning...refused

Return-to-Learn Update (8/6/20)

We have been notified by the Iowa Department of Education that our application for permission to begin the year in an off-site learning model has been denied. While this is not the outcome that we were hoping for, we have been preparing for this possibility. We plan to discuss our next steps with the Board during their meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, and we will provide an update to families as soon as possible.

for Betsy DeVos' job.

She wants to show she cares even less about schools and kids than Betsy.

She's a terrible governor, but she adores Trump.

Can they pull funding? Can they decertify the school? Are there legal penalties?

There must be something there for the city schools to even have to ask for permission.
