There he goes again. Romney repeated his bogus claim to have created more jobs than Pres. Obama

At the GOP's debate this morning—the second in 12 hours—Mitt Romney wasted no time misleading Americans on President Obama’s jobs record by calling the President "anti-jobs."

It's a tactic Romney’s used before. “This president has been on the attack and has been a job killer,” he said at a town hall meeting in Salem, New Hampshire, on Thursday.

But the facts are in the numbers. As of December 2011, the latest month where numbers are available, we’ve had 22 consecutive months of job growth. In that time, we’ve also added over three million private sector jobs to the economy. In the words of ABC News, “Whichever way you slice it, the U.S. economy has now been creating jobs for 22 consecutive months." Romney’s attack is just the latest example of how he’s willing to say anything to get elected.

As for Mitt Romney’s own record on jobs, he’s the one who specialized in maximizing profits for Bain Capital by cutting pensions and firing workers. Bain piled up debt and drove companies into bankruptcy. Although he claims to have created 100,000 jobs, his own campaign adviser has admitted that figure does not take into account thousands of job losses.

One of Romney’s own business partners, Marc B. Walpow, said it best:

“I never thought of what I do for a living as job creation,” he said. “The primary goal of private equity is to create wealth for your investors.”

Romney’s record during his time as governor of Massachusetts doesn’t look any better. On job creation, his state had one of the worst records in the country—ranking 47th to be exact, fourth from last. Under Governor Romney, workers’ wages fell, taxes increased for individuals and businesses, and the state’s deficit stayed about the same.

Mitt Romney is trying to distract Americans from his jobs record with yet another misleading attack on the President.

Apparently Mitt doesn’t want folks to know the truth about his record on jobs while governor of Massachusetts:

The Wall Street Journal reports that under Romney, Massachusetts ranked 47th out of 50 states in job growth.

According to the Center for Market Studies at Northeastern University, during his term as governor, manufacturing jobs in Massachusetts declined by twice the national average—the third worst record in the country.

Under President Obama, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy has added nearly three million private sector jobs over 21 months of consecutive job growth.

Economic activity in the manufacturing sector has increased for 29 consecutive months.

As of November 2011, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the manufacturing sector has added more jobs in each of the last two years than any year since 1997. (data.bls.gov, accessed 12/2/2011)

with him and Obama, he wouldn't do it. He knows Obama would be ready for it and call him on it. At least he should know that.
