Per the NRA the New York AG's lawsuit isn't about guns. It's about corruption.

LaPierre and others have used the NRA members' dues as their personal piggy bank for years. This accusation has been raised by many NRA members most notably Oliver North.

The case the state of New York is making is the NRA is violating the rules covering non-profit organizations.
