https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/jeanine-pirro-on-nra-fraud-allegations-it-happens-all-the-time-it-s-no-big-deal/ar-BB17HbtsWhile the assertions that National Rifle Association (NRA) officials spent millions raised through membership dues on lavish vacations, kickbacks, and self-enriching contracts stunned many, Fox News host Jeanine Pirro suggested the alleged conduct was run-of-the-mill and not the big deal that NY Attorney General Letitia Jamess announcement presented it to be. Pirro said the Democratic AGs motives in seeking to dissolve the Second Amendment advocacy group were clearly political.
New Yorks lawsuit seeking to dissolve the NRA on Thursday laid out a litany of allegations accusing the organizations top executives of defrauding the charitable organization for their own personal gain. Appearing on the networks morning show Fox & Friends on Friday morning, Pirro, the first woman ever to serve as Westchester Countys District Attorney, said the lawsuit was less about the law and more about politics.
Pirro referred to the claims of using charitable donations to fund trips on private jets and expensive were classic self-dealing allegations.
She then set her sights on the attorney general, saying the nature and timing of the lawsuit revealed the action to be entirely politically motivated.

If I were an NRA member, I would be furious!

(82,849 posts)I remember the calm, dispassionate response Fox had when the unsubstantiated rumors about the Clinton Foundation were first bruited about.

(6,477 posts)Family foundations are tax grifts mostly; many non-profits are laundering centers like the NRA.
Much less efficient than government programs in most cases.

(110 posts)she would say that. Her husband spent time in prison for conspiracy and tax fraud. He wrote off 1.5 million dollars in fraudulent expenses. That was 20 years ago though. I am sure he'd get away scott free now with all the corruption going on. That would just be child's play.

(2,673 posts)Texas republicans are ready to greet the NRA with open arms.
Here's the house a NRA rep bought for La Pierre several years ago. Reportedly La Pierre's wife didn't like it and they never moved in. Another example of where the memberships' money was going. The price for the house as reported in the Dallas Morning News was $6,000,000.

(12,609 posts)and if she actually said - and it wasnt just headline writers hyperbole that Its no big deal and it happens all the time, I believe she could be disbarred for this; undermining the justice system.
But I have seen too much of headline writers exaggerations to fully believe it. And maybe she resigned her Bar membership. I dont care enough to check.
