https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/biden-camp-taps-republican-trump-foe-ana-navarro-rev-latino-n1236063MIAMI The Biden campaign is hoping Republican commentator Ana Navarro, a Trump foe known for her salty quips, can help drive Latino and other voters to the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Navarro was born in Nicaragua and came to the United States after the 1979 Sandinista revolution "when my family fled communism and we settled in Miami."
"I became a Republican at the age of 8 because it was a party that was fighting communism ... that did not kowtow to communist dictators, she said.
She called this an essential part of being Republican.
That's one of the biggest messaging points the Trump campaign has been pushing to solidify and energize GOP Latino voters in the critical swing state of Florida calling Biden and other Democrats communists, socialists and communist sympathizers.

(16,646 posts)Now we have members of the GOP getting on the inside of the campaign and advising Biden. And I suspect these people will end up inside the administration afterwards. The Lincoln Project, RVAT, 43 for Biden, and many of these other GOP groups are going to want a seat at the table afterwards.

(16,646 posts)These are all professional political operatives. They aren't doing this out of a sense of charity. They'll still want to advocate for the issues about which they care. They will not turn down an opportunity to get access and influence. And Joe is a "work across the aisle" kind of politician who has already spoken of his relationships with other GOP senators. If he believes that his victory is connected to working with these people, he'll put them on staff.

(4,267 posts)Navarro is another one of those republicans who always says nasty stuff about trump and his enablers, but always finds a BUT to say something negative about the Democratic party.
In this case, ""I became a Republican at the age of 8 because it was a party that was fighting communism ... that did not kowtow to communist dictators". So I guess the Dems didn't fight communism and kowtowed to communist dictators.
So welcome* Ana
