American Prospect: The Postal Service has informed states that theyll need to pay first-class 55-cent postage to mail ballots to voters, rather than the normal 20-cent bulk rate. That nearly triples the per-ballot cost at a time when tens of millions more will be delivered. The rate change would have to go through the Postal Regulatory Commission and, undoubtedly, litigation. But the time frame for that is incredibly short, as ballots go out very soon.

(24,396 posts)of voters registered as Republicans. These R voters will be culled from the mail list before the list is sent to the USPS, and no ballot will be mailed to them.
Saves money...and since most Rs wont participate in mail-in voting as tRump has called it a fraud, will save lots of mailed ballots bring tossed in the trash.

(15,769 posts)And honestly the post office needs revenue so 55 cents per ballot would help the post office a lot. Maybe some workers wont be Laid off for it. Not everything is negative. The states and local jurisdictions pay most of the time.

(12,712 posts)Unless we are playing ABOVE THE LAW, then DeJoy is committing a potential felony and acting under false pretenses and that should be investigated immediately.
He is interfering with the United States Postal system and for political purposes. That should carry a hefty sentence if he is convicted, no? I mean, isn't doing something illegal in regards to the Post Office a very serious offense in the hierarchy?
I would suggest he be removed from that position immediately and even arrested and tried.
That is, unless the position that he holds now makes him another autocrat and immune to any laws or penalties.

(32,626 posts)Lots of states already do vote-by-mail, or absentee. What about the military? Does this happen with every primary, or election?
