We know that's what he wants. "Our stockpile." Our treasury. Who stops Mnuchin from processing checks if they decide to tell We the People to fuck the fuck off? Who's stopped them so far? I am beyond alarmed. I feel as though the entire country has settled into "wait until November" mode & then even we'll just hope for the best. Nobody has a Plan A, much less a Plan B.

We had three weeks' notice this was coming. Hopefully our best and brightest leaders have consulted with the most creative and knowledgeable legal minds at their disposal (about this and the USPS situation too). Beyond that, I can't console myself and feel that we are really at the breaking point we've feared and theorized about for a couple of years now.

We don't know anything that they are doing and I wonder if we ever will.

I feel like we're in a driverless car and will go over the cliff before November.

He knows this is a win, win.
If he extends unemployment benefits, or somehow another $1,200.00 to citizens, he will be daring the Democrats to halt it in court.

He can then say he tried, but those Democrats really don’t want to help, they just want a political point.

he killed two people but he was determined to do everything in his power to find the person who did this and bring him to justice.....so the Dems need to portray Trump as OJ.. Trump is personally responsible for the deaths of 160,000 innocent people and the economy collapsing, and now he's going to "fix" the decimation he caused...ok

to be clear, there is no such thing as a deficit hawk. the tea party only cares that if we are going to drive up the deficit we do it by diverting trillions to the richest people on earth and no one else.

come on, I get that people are disillusioned that people voted for this guy, I am too, but he's not a super genius.

1. A majority of Americans are not going to believe that the Dems that have been pushing aid for months all of a sudden are against it because they oppose Trump violating the Constitution.

2. Aid requires a lot more than just a single 1200 check. That isn't going to solve the unemployment issue, and it isn't going to put people back to work. It's not like people are going to think problem solved.

3. The payroll tax cut won't likely result in additional money to people because it's only a deferment, businesses are still on the hook and they ain't going to implement it if they just have to pay it back in 6 months or so. And there's the threat to SS if it somehow does go through.

Y'all need to quit viewing Trump as some sort of evil political genius.

The EO is a political stunt, because there's no money to fund anything promised.

And, the courts have repeatedly stopped overreach.
So, the payroll tax can be halted, or Congress appropriates money to refund SS & Medicare.
The debt still ends up at his feet.
If he orders stimulus checks & business grants, the money will never be sent.
The executive branch can't spend $ they don't have.
Yes, 30% of the population will brag about this "bold" move, but it will be easy to get 90% of the other 70% to understand that none of it can actually happen.
Just another empty promise.
