Have a lot of teaching and enough acadenic pursuit in the family to have some idea. Plus i got out of academia to go into business and industry early on. The salaries are not even close. A colleague just left industry and took a FT prof position. 1/3 rd the pay. In 2019. Buying a house on it is her biggest concern.
