The White House reportedly asked South Dakota's governor how to add another president to Mount Rushmore.South Dakota's governor, Kristi Noem, recalled her first meeting with Trump in the oval office: "I said, 'Mr. President, you should come to South Dakota sometime. We have Mount Rushmore.' And he goes, 'Do you know it's my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?' I started laughing," she said. "He wasn't laughing, so he was totally serious."
Last year, a White House aide contacted the office of South Dakota's governor, Republican Kristi Noem, to inquire about the process for adding more faces, according to The New York Times. The Times cited a Republican official familiar with the conversation.
Noem, a close ally of President Trump's, has since played into that dream, at least with the power she has. When Trump visited the monument in early July for an Independence Day speech, she greeted him with a four-foot model of Mount Rushmore with his face carved into it, citing a source familiar with the exchange.
To be clear, adding another face to Mount Rushmore is not possible. While it looks like there's a spot to the right of George Washington which is actually where the sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, intended to put Thomas Jefferson the rock surface is unstable. (Perfect spot for an unstable president)

Actually, I'd like it if a huge statute of him were put up somewhere just so we could pull it down and stomp the shit out of it, as with the Confederate generals' statutes and the one of Saddam Hussein, like this:
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who saidTwo vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

(12,712 posts)There are plenty of sewage treatment plants to put his face on and they are about getting the "trump" out of the water. Very befitting. Name one after him, too, and forgo any library ideas because we already have case law libraries about crimes.

(4,858 posts)...my suggestion: have him climb down the mountain, like Cary Grant in *North By Northwest*. If he survives, then let him have his face plastered up there, by all means. If not... well, at least he tried. Incidentally--I wouldn't mind seeing old Cary himself up there. Could anyone object to *that*?
