'Evangelicals For Trump' Event In Las Vegas Draws Hundreds Despite COVID-19 Directives

Not surprisingly, the vast bulk of Nevada's COVID-19 cases are centered in Clark County.

A Las Vegas hotel received a civil penalty and a $250 fine this week after hosting a faith-based campaign event for President Donald Trump that violated the city’s COVID-19 social gathering restrictions.

More than 500 people attended Thursday’s “Evangelicals for Trump” event at the Ahern Hotel and Convention Center, which was headlined by the president’s pastor and spiritual adviser, Paula White.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, attendees were required to wear masks, and their temperatures were checked upon arrival. Signs urged anyone who felt ill to go home.

A short video posted to Twitter by Faith and Freedom Coalition founder Ralph Reed showed a “packed house” taking in a musical performance in the Ahern Hotel’s lobby.

No offense to Las Vegas, but think about their event site and compare it to their alleged purpose. WyattKansas Aug 2020 #10
I agree. There were plenty of places that they could have held the convention. Blue_true Aug 2020 #14

It's hilariously ironic that they're holding an event like this in a place called "Sin City". Initech Aug 2020 #16

Talking about an uptick in appointments with escorts and visits to the various ranches that coincidentally occurred while they were in town.

That should give anyone a heads up moment about what they are saying they are all about.

The chose the Mecca of gambling and debauchery.

They could have chosen Orlando, Florida, I am sure that Gov. DeathSantis would have bent over backward to accommodate them, or they could have chosen Fort Worth, Texas, a place still clinging to red as the area around it become more and more blue, I am sure that Abbott would have bent rules for them.

Actually some of them might be OK with being raptured sooner rather than later.

that there are evangelical's for Trump. The evangelical's are are supposed to be against sin and sinners. That is pretty much Trumpco in a nutshell.

These are the people who should be protesting Every Trump event not attending them.

God, your message is not getting threw....

I used to play bingo at one certain casino and there were meeting rooms near the bingo hall door. In front of the nearest meeting room, there was a big sign saying that a local Baptist church was meeting there for services while their church was having construction work done. The sign was up for more than 2 months.

Once a religious coworker who had lived in Vegas his whole life said that he had never even been inside a casino. Considering that restaurants, movie theaters, convention facilities, and bowling alleys are in larger casinos, I found that hard to believe.
