How many times has one heard, "I voted for Trump because I wanted a businessman to run America like a business"? Only an idiot would want a nation run like--what? Amazon? Uber? A meat-packing plant?--but Trump was never a businessman and everyone knew it. His history of running his many scams into the ground and then walking away with the cash leaving others to clean up the mess was well-known.

Whether they realize it or not, all they really wanted was The Apprentice running 24/7 in real life, with Tango Mussolini ruining someone else's life daily for their entertainment. Most of them lack the fortitude to ever admit otherwise, even when "someone else" turned out to be them as well.

BUT YOU WOULD THINK THE ECONOMIST WOULD KNOW BETTER
