Trump dupes the press (great article on Judd Legum's Popular.info website)

Found this thanks to a tweet from Bill Kristol, minutes ago:






“None of this is true. Trump did not ‘extend’ federal unemployment benefits—he cut them. Trump did not impose an ‘eviction moratorium’ of any kind. And Trump's payroll tax deferral is optional for employers...The point was to generate positive headlines.”

The article is one of the best analyses I've seen of why Trump's announcement of the "actions" he's taking was so illusory.

It's worth sharing for that analysis.

It also puts many in the press to shame for letting Trump use them to get the headlines he wanted.
