Would you take a coronavirus vaccine produced in Russia?

Any moment now, we are likely to hear Donald Trump announce that he has made an agreement with Vladimir Putin to buy 300,000,000 doses of the vaccine from his good friend, Putin. After all, no one has been tougher on Vladimir Putin than Donald Trump.

This would be a re-run of the hydroxychloroquine stockpile of a few months ago. Who knows who made the money off that deal?

Do not be surprised.

I'm more worried it's 10% effective, and then we'd be dealing with side effects from something that barely works.

But I doubt that is going to happen. If the vaccine is used in America, I'm sure right-wing pundits and conspiracy theorists will sing its praises just like they did with hydroxychloroquine.

Just because it's made in Russia, doesn't make it bad. But clearly it hasn't been tested fully. I would not take any vaccines made anywhere if they are not fully tested.

He'll want it to look like something HE did ... like, with people he hired ... is responsible for the existence of vaccine in the USA.

And he won't want the negative publicity that would come with buying from Putin ... much as he loves Putin and Russia.

I don't think he'll calculate it as a Win for Trump ... to do that.

But I've been wrong before ...

There's no way they could have produced one that's efficable in this length of time. I am calling bullshit on this one.

That's the first thing I thought when I read it! Unfortunately, his cult & a lot of Americans who have shown us they can be conned unto anything will believe it & then believe him when he says that only electing him will get them the vaccine from Putin.

Seriously? Of all the things to be scared of, this doesn't concern me. First of all, it might actually work. Second of all, it's not approved in US. Third of all, Russia doesn't even have enough to give it to all its citizens right now, let alone to US citizens.

They didn't vet this vaccine properly, it's the kind of stunt that would give the anti-vaxxers ammunition and endanger our lives when a real vaccine is available. Part of me believes the anti's will think this vaccine is fine though.

Yeah, I know, I know, I should love all my fellow man, but damn, some of them don't make it easy.

But I don't think this vaccine has anything to do with the U.S.A..

Putin's gang is getting desperate trying to keep a lid on civil unrest in their own house.

and it's obviously effective and safe.

Once there is a good, effective, and safe vaccine, there are a lot of people who need to be in line ahead of me for it. And once one is actually proven, in the rush to make the billions of doses that will be needed, there are almost bound to be some screw-ups. So I'll be very happy to wait my turn.
