Joy Reid has been increasingly great on every show recently with witty and really intelligent things to say. Tonight on LO, she finally said something about the "blackface" last night in Florida after it seemed that no one would on any show I saw.. She seems to be really hitting her stride and is giving a certain unique clarity in whatever she is speaking about.
I first saw her on MSNBC during the Trayvon Martin episode, wasn't she working for The Grio then?
Since then she really has gotten quite good on many different issues.
I find her and Karen and Crystal quite refreshing to listen to as I do also Ari Melber, Johnathan and of course Ezra on the various shows each day. Plus many many more... MSNBC has established a good diverse group of junior pundits sorta, don't mean that as a slight... to appear on their shows each day.
People like Joy Reid and others are helping MSNBC's rise in the ratings are surely as Tweety and Ed and Rachel etc are in their way. Much as I dislike Phil Griffin for so many things, he has put a pretty good support team together to help the "stars" do their thing..
Bring KO back and then we would be really rocking!!!

(50,130 posts)I think he's the best thing to come from The Nation since Chris Hayes. Really sharp, really good. And his smile lights up the room.

(4,219 posts)And not that she needed one but clearly she has got a stylist now and she looks stunning which goes so well with her intelligence and clarity. She is really blossoming to become one of the best!!!
Remember about 2 years ago when it was said that MSNBC did not have enough racial diversity. Starting I believe with Tamron and then The Rev, they seem to now have more people of color or "just not all white people' then the other news operations put together...
