Katie Porter and Kamala Harris had a sterling working relationship that goer back when Harris was California's AG and Porter was at UCI law school. Harris appointed Katie to be California's watchdog against the banks.....and, Boy howdy, she delivered in spades.

That was probably one of the top reasons why I wanted Rice. I wanted to keep Kamala Harris in the Senate. It may take us another 20 years to get a black woman in the Senate again.

There is a woman running in Tennessee, but she's a long-shot.

If it's possible for the California governor to appoint another black woman senator, I will be very happy.
