The subtext to his BS is that 47% of the country is
NOT WORKING (i.e. unemployed, bums, welfare queens,
deadbeats, parasites, moochers, etc.)
The reality is that they ARE working (but still too poor),
or that they HAVE worked all or most of their lives,
or are TOO YOUNG or UNABLE to work.
Imagine if half the country wasn't working ?
Vote for Republicans and it will become reality.

(20,450 posts)of mostly white working class people who continue to vote against their own interests and mad that the president is BLACK that the 47% is comprised of "Welfare Queens"--black women who keep having babies out of wedlock, don't work, and live off the government dole AND black men who are able-bodied, but lazy and simply don't want to work.
That's what this message is all about.

(5,954 posts)So, maybe Mitt isn't entirely wrong about people paying no income tax, and having as sense of entitlement and a lack of responsibility.
Seriously, I never thought I'd live to see the day when either political party would have the gaul to put forward a presidential candidate who is an asshole who set up shell corporations in the Cayman Islands to AVOID paying taxes IN HIS OWN COUNTRY. There was a time when only a few, particularly sleazy business men did that kind of thing, and people (including OTHER business men) looked on them as sleazy, unpatriotic, and having no loyalty to their country. Sort of like people who had citizenships in other countries, just for convenience (like Michelle Bachmann, I guess). I never thought one of those sleazebags would be taken seriously as a presidential candidate.

(82,383 posts)Good point - remember Mittens said he took all lawful tax breaks he could and that it was right for him to do so, so what could be not taking PR about taking mortgage interest, childcare, and other deductions and the EITC? Mitt is so out of touch.

The description: "I'm a socially liberal woman, fed up with things that make me wonder about the state of the union. What kind of things, you ask? (1,532 posts)The Dems need to make this into a commercial--probably without the wonderful FU at the end. I especially like the last one, where Mitt mocks Mitt.
