Fuck Tim Kaine: Open to minimum federal income tax

Yes I want him to beat George Allen but this type of selling out and pandering is disgusting.

In Virginia’s Senate debate on Thursday, Democrat Tim Kaine said he would be open to a “minimum tax level” to ensure that all Americans pay some federal income tax.

Kaine repeatedly criticized Mitt Romney for suggesting, in the now-infamous videos posted by Mother Jones, that low-income Americans with zero income tax liability see themselves as “victims” and lack “personal responsibility.”

Kaine, the Democratic former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, called the comments “divisive” and hit his Republican opponent, George Allen, for not condemning them more forcefully. ”I don’t think the question of whether you agree with governor Romney’s comments is hard. I think it is very straightforward,” Kaine said.

But when pressed by moderator David Gregory on whether all Americans should pay some taxes, Kaine offered that he would consider supporting a proposal to ensure that they do–while protesting that they already pay some taxes, if not income taxes. Here is that exchange between Kaine and Gregory:

2. No, fuck your OP headline. Christ, could there be anymore over-reaction with this? It's silly.

Kaine REPEATEDLY condemned Romney's statements as wrong and divisive. All he said was he'd be open to looking at such a proposal, but certainly didn't advance any particular proposal. It was also within the debate theme of dealiing with the huge deficit. Christ, you have some liberals out there and plenty of economists saying that ALL the Bush tax cuts should expire to pay for jobs programs, other social programs, education, etc., including PLENTY of liberals right here on this board. It is those tax cuts and exemptions that help MANY of the 47% not pay a federal income tax. So enough of the hypocrisy on this. Yes, a gaffe to an extent, but not the big deal or game changer some people are trying to make this. Kaine has always been a centrist from a centrist state. But that is a FAR, FAR cry from being a right wing TeaBagger, and he needs to be supported. He's far and above better than Maccaca Man. Kaine doesn't even come close to that. So enough of this over-reaction and foolish purity. Listen to the WHOLE debate. Kaine did very well against Maccaca Man overall, and Maccaca Man wouldn't even mention Romney's name nor would he answer questions about Romney's comments directly. This is not a huge deal, at all. Let it sink, and move on.

Kaine is pandering and saying things that a real dem wouldn't say. Your excuses suck. It's not exactly honest to bring in the shit about how "some liberals out there and plenty of economists saying that ALL the Bush tax cuts should expire to pay for jobs programs, other social programs, education, etc., including PLENTY of liberals right here on this board.". Guess what? that has exactly NOTHING WHATSOFUCKING EVER to do with what Kaine is saying. NOTHING.

I'm not saying it's a gamechanger and as I clearly fucking said: I hope Kaine wins, but HE is the one shitting on the poor by saying he's open to a minimum federal income tax. duh. And he is the one who wants to keep the bushie tax cuts for those making up to half a million a year.

Yeah, I think it's a big deal and I have no fucking intention of letting it sink.

Got it? Good. I'm ever so glad.

Then you offered tepid support for him. Who exactly do you think will be the next junior Senator from Virginia if Kaine gets "fucked"? I've already had to live through a Governor Allen and a Senator Allen, and if enough people decide to "Fuck Tim Kaine" it could happen again. No thanks.
duh.

8. It's up to Tim Kaine to beat George Allen, and selling out

and pandering is not the way to do it. If he were to lose the blame would be square on him. It's his responsibility to get Democrats to vote for him, not the voters to hold their nose and vote for him. Someone needs to stand up for the elderly, the poor and Veterans who actually pay more in taxes than the wealthy and corporations.
