After yesterday's big announcement, coverage on

On MSNBC and CNN was amazing. I was appreciative that these outlets had so many segments from Black women in media and politics - white women too but mostly Black women.

The joy and happiness that came through in every interviews was palpable. It was infectious. It was glorious! The moment was powerful recognition and validation of Black women.

The reaction to Kamela Harris being named VP candidate was every bit as important as her being named.

They're very discerning of a person's ancestry so they don't denigrate (a word that doesn't mean what they think it means) the wrong person. It's not like dark skin is their only metric for insulting someone.

Wait. That doesn't sound right, for some reason.

It seemed to gleefully focus on Harris' attacks on Biden's record on busing. It came across as all negative and smelled like a FOX piece.

It did, however, trigger that 1980 moment when George H.W. Bush called Reaganomics "voodoo economics" before he became part of the ticket.

Also, in NH that year, there was a dispute about one of the debates where Bush was pissed at Ronnie. He said, "I'm not paying for this!"

They can show how tough Harris is by balancing it in proper context or using the infamous Barr clip.
