George Takei is usually nice to everybody

And he holds true to form. This is about as nice as any thinking person can be to the orange idiot.

Text in response to Trump's latest "Suburban Housewife" Tweet.

Suburban women (stop saying housewives like you’re stuck in the 50s) see through you entirely. You’re a misogynistic, incompetent, racist thug who can barely wipe his own ass let alone lead a country out of this crisis.

All FIVE suburban housewives in the U.S. will vote for him.

They're still the subserviate ones who vote the same way Master does.

ALWAYS. Even in elementary school I didn't like it. Thought it was demeaning. Resolved I would NEVER be one, even if I ever got married.

And that's long before I ever woke up to the women's movement.

Especially when Ralph Kramden doesn't help.

When our daughter got married, I gently but firmly leaned on the young man they chose to officiate at the wedding. During the rehearsal, he said "I now pronounce you man and wife." Which I heard, as I always have, as "man and thing." I made a beeline for him as soon as I saw he wasn't with a bunch of people and pulled him aside and discreetly said - "Hi! MOTHER of the BRIDE here! "Just one correction, please. It's HUSBAND and wife. NOT 'man and wife.' She's NOT a thing. And he's not an owner." I was polite. He was receptive. And I thanked him. And when it counted, he delivered! "I now pronounce you husband and wife."

But dammit, I've lived too long and taken too much shit and fought too hard to break through and make it in a man's industry (broadcasting, back when it wasn't something women were into yet) to let that be done to my daughter, especially when I'm in the exalted position of MOTHER OF THE BRIDE and I have standing here (and the fact that her dad and I are PAYING FOR ALL OF THIS - including the nice tip to the officiant). I figured I'm entitled to throw my weight around in that case. She's NOT a thing. NO daughter of mine is a mere THING of which a man takes ownership. And that goes double for my granddaughters, DAMMIT.

And btw, by now I think I'm entitled to be an old crank whenever I damn well feel it's necessary!

Good for you to squelch all that traditional sexist nonsense.

I may have gone a step farther though. How many men told his teenage daughters about Lucy Stone? As far as I know, just me.

I have generated more eye rolling from my wife than my "dad jokes" have from my daughters. It's fun too!

That was the most engaging, happy man who loved his job and his students. I saw him get upset once in my life - it was not a loud yelling kind of upset, but his demeanor change and the fact that he wasn't just upset with a person but disappointed in them immediately chilled the room.

I imagine that's how Takei is when he gets upset. I don't believe in vibes or positive/negative energy, etc. It's just that when someone who you know as one way has to change their demeanor drastically, it creates a kind of cognitive dissonance that you physically feel.

I don't think I could handle Takei being upset with me.

As the union of one woman and one house?

I think they had trouble passing it because too many repukes wanted it to be open to up to seven houses...

So, he thinks we’re supposed to be June Cleaver, God rest her soul, but way worse? Keep talking, jerk.

I completely agree, and said similar in another thread.

Takei is in full, get the Orange Anus out mode. He's turned serious about this, as we all should now. It's time to focus and use everything in our arsenal!
