OXFORD, Miss — Two Florida men were arrested in Mississippi charged with credit card fraud in a multi-state scheme using card skimmers at gas stations.

Oxford police say the investigation began back in January when they got a report of credit card fraud, but the victim still had the card. Over the next seven months, police say more victims came forward with similar stories.

2. They got me at a gas station near Waldo, FL. Got my $$ back but it took a while. The other

part of the problem is going back and changing card numbers on all my accounts. Also had the same problem when traveling through SC several years ago. Again, it was at a gas station. I must be a dumbass.

Have been told never to use the gas pumps farthest away from the cashier's line of sight. That makes sense I suppose.

I'm pretty sure this skimming stuff is fairly common.

4. This is why I always pay cash

when I get gas, or use the one gasoline company credit card that isn't tied to Visa or MC if I'm near one of those stations.

5. I got burned 3 years ago. I always use cash since, gas is a few cents

cheaper too.

proper forms. It was the bank that tipped me off on the possible location where and how I was ripped off.

11. I found a few videos to help fellow DUers how to spot a skimmer.

I've always went inside to pay for the gas that I purchase. Now with the pandemic raging, I use the gas pump reader to pay.

16. Had it happen to me at a gas station in Lake Cormorant when I lived down there...

I always use a credit card at the pump because it's easier to deal with it there is a theft than if they get your debit card info.
