(58,785 posts)History confirms without a single significant exception that all progressive advances were created by mainstream progressives.
Extremists calling themselves progressive sometimes destroy and retard progress by competent iconoclasts, but never achieve it. They loathed the New Dealers, and one of the NDers' most critical achievements was surviving the attacks that many other nations fell to.
Of course they don't like Kamala. We need to break up Big Tech, but at this point I'd be worried if they did.

(16,646 posts)Within the democratic party, she's not the "far" or "radical" left. I don't think she's exactly a "blue dog" either. But from a conservative/right wing point of view she is "to the left of center".
I used to chuckle at work when the heavily conservative population would label me a "far left liberal". To them, anyone who is pro-choice is a radical leftist. I told the more than a few times that they had no idea what an actual far left liberal was.
After Bush II was elected I was discussing my concerns with them about him. One of them pushed the old talking point that in Texas he was able to work with both sides. I chuckled and said that democrats in Texas were not representative of democrats on both coasts. One of the gentlemen in the group, who had lived in Texas chuckled and said, "In Texas, a democrat is a republican that is pro-choice."
