Sometime between now and Nov 6, I predict a complete Mitt meltdown.

it is noticable how shrill and petty she was sounding. Besides, I'm sure she pissed off some big time media types on the right who could punch bigger holes in the sinking ship if provoked.

The Republicans seem to like that sort of thing and the chair would have probably come off better.

Stepping outside the frame of my dislike of the Romneys, on a purely compassionate note I hope something isn't actually going on. It's been a strange couple of days, with that outburst and the plane's emergency landing and now this.

I don't know about that First Lady thing, unless she was planning on not doing much.

The emergency landing had to be a very scary thing. And yes, mabe her MS is flairing up. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt on this one. Aren't we the real party of compassion...even against our opponents.

Yes, she's under a lot of stress. Yes, she has a potentially debilitating disease (although given what Ann thinks was living on the edge in college I'm starting to wonder about her medical claims*). Yes, people are saying mean things about her and Willard (maybe Michelle or Hillary can give her a call so they can commiserate). But she and Mitt made the decision to play the politics game, so she shouldn't be surprised that it's such a vicious game (and always has been).

I think the fact that she's never worked outside her home is handicapping her: she hasn't had to learn the coping skills to deal with criticism, or disappointment, or, for that matter, most sorts of personal pressure. Nor does she understand that with most jobs - and being First Lady is a job, a very hard one - don't care how you may feel physically or mentally: you're still expected to show up and work if you want that paycheck. And she certainly doesn't understand that when you're at a job interview - even a prolonged, televised one - you put your best foot forward, be positive, and act like you can do the job.

*disclaimer: I don't know nor do I really care about Ann Romney's medical condition, and I'm sure she doesn't care about mine. I don't like whiners, though, and I especially don't like whiners who are actively trying to get in the way of people getting problems like hers attended to. Ann, if you're feeling poorly do like normal people and get some rest, or treatment, or figure out how to avoid the stressors, or whatever you want. Just don't complain to me out how you and Mitt aren't being as appreciated as you think you deserve.
