Trumps repeatedly said the Postal Service cant handle mail in ballots and yet hes reduced capacity.
Illinois has had 13 mail sorting machines removed. The sortation capability lost is approximately 1/2 million pieces of mail every hour; 4 million pieces per 8 hour shift and 8 million fewer pieces a day over two shifts.

(4,845 posts)The whole argument that it is to save cost is such a BS lie. Cutting overtime is fine in that narrative but taking away the sorting machine never fit or make any sense.
I know republican or the MBA type love to increase people's production per hour (but what it basically does is require people to work volunteer unpaid overtime). But taking away the sorting machine does none of it, other than slowing the sorting efficiency.
