I think the most dangerous time is when they know they likely will lose

Which is mathematically more possible than not as of now. With what is at stake, I am sure the Romney strategist's have two options - get the resumes out or find or manufacturer a game changer. The debates won't be enough unless Obama screws up royally or Romney wows, both of which is highly doubtful.

The desperation around this election from the right will make this an interesting few weeks. With the success of gotcha reporting and hidden cameras, I hope that this does not lead to manufactured outrages towards Obama as we near November 6th. With the waving off of fact checking by many, a fake video or news story could run for 24 hours easily and never be "cleared" up once debunked. The blitz of ads expected in the coming weeks will create a wave of confusion and fact checking the fact checkers - hopefully voters will use their heads. Good news is that many of those on the far right cannot imagine losing to Obama and will buy into the meme that his is way ahead and the polls are purposely slanted by the left wing media.

With the Republican party said to be at stake in this election, what can they do to change the game when the signs continue to look ominous?

Many, many people will have their ballots in the mail or cast in person over the next few weeks, safely unchangeable.*

*Assuming the Repub vote changers don't get their hands on them.
