I distinctly remember that when I was seventeen...

My biggest interests were school activities, girls, books, my art, partying and music. I had never considered to cross state lines with a semi-auto carbine to shoot people in the street.

Had I, most people, including myself, would have considered such a, then unthinkable, act quite insane.

These are dangerous times.

2. I was definitely not into gunz and killing, either. This loser is sick, as are those like him.

Hope he rots in prison.

I don’t understand why there is no law against carrying weapons in such circumstances, even if we have to accept gunz at home.

Who wears gloves and carries a rifle to protests that isn’t looking for a reason to kill someone?

3. Just like Adam Lanza or the Columbine boys.

This new guy just had a screw loose, and the Trump Party and Trump Religion radicalized him.

4. When I was 16, I was on my school's rifle team

We had access to guns, but nobody - not even once - ever even mentioned or thought of turning one of them on another human being. We practiced for the next competition, then they were locked up again. There was never an incident - and we were normal teenagers with the issues that are common to that age group. But these days there is no longer a rifle team at my former school and I'm grateful. Nobody needs to own a gun, especially now. Times have changed.

5. I was big into hunting and shooting sports.

And accepted it aa normal that my dad kept the guns locked up in his closet.

But as I got older beer and mainly girls took over my interest.

6. Also, why were the Kenosha police thanking him, like he was a deputy or something?

This was a 17 year old kid, carrying a weapon to a racial protest from out-of-state. The Kenosha police acted like he was doing them a favor!

7. That just highlights the fact that cops are part of the problem

They’ve practically deputized armed white nationalists and right wing domestic terrorists, all to justify the way that cops terrorize the Black community on a daily basis.

22. Fucking cops everywhere need a clue by four between the eyes.

No, these gun nuts aren't "friendlies," no matter how much they suck up and how blue their shirts are. They're wannabes, vigilantes, and that makes them some of the most dangerous men in the country.

Wake up, guys.

8. He is a kid. He was fed this by a lot of adult men, Trump. It is sickening.

Parents failed him at the expense of two lives and another hurt and this kid is done, his life is over.

I hope the dead men's families sue the shit out of them.

17. Absolutely. That has bothered me all day. I put this solely on parents who raised this kid

condoning and reinforcing this idea. The hardest part is my youngest looks so much like him at that age in movement, looks, baby fat, they way he walks and maybe why I am more pissed than anything but the adults around him did not serve him well and his life should be over.

19. His mom proudly posted a picture of her son in a fake law enforcement uniform on Facebook.

Much of Rittenhouse’s Facebook page is devoted to praising law enforcement, with references to Blue Lives Matter, a movement that supports police. He also can be seen holding an assault rifle.

Other photographs include those of badges of various law enforcement agencies, including the Chicago Police Department. All of the badges have a black line across them — something police officers typically do with black tape when an officer is killed in the line of duty.

In a photograph posted by his mother, he is wearing what appears to be a blue law enforcement uniform as well as the kind of brimmed hat that state troopers wear.

10. Along with this kid, the people who promoted the migration of militia members to Kenosha...

on social media should be locked up with him.

Who the hell promoted these gun-toting brats from all over to the position of protectors of Kenosha?

KY.........

20. The poor baby was bullied at school.

I expect that to be part of his excuse. Maybe Melania should step in to help since she is the so-called "anti-bully" advocate.

"In January 2017, his mother sought an order of protection, accusing one of Rittenhouse's classmates of bullying her son with taunts of being "dumb" and "stupid," as well as threatening to hurt him".

21. An interesting excerpt from the Wisconsin statutes

Section 948.60 (emphasis added):

948.60  Possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.
(1)  In this section, “dangerous weapon" means any firearm, loaded or unloaded; any electric weapon, as defined in s. 941.295 (1c) (a); metallic knuckles or knuckles of any substance which could be put to the same use with the same or similar effect as metallic knuckles; a nunchaku or any similar weapon consisting of 2 sticks of wood, plastic or metal connected at one end by a length of rope, chain, wire or leather; a cestus or similar material weighted with metal or other substance and worn on the hand; a shuriken or any similar pointed star-like object intended to injure a person when thrown; or a manrikigusari or similar length of chain having weighted ends.
(2)
(a) Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.

I wonder why the cops young Kyle was chatting up didn't enforce the gun laws that are clearly on the books.

26. We passed dangerous quite awhile ago........

Mortified, would be a far superior word......................

Where the hell does a 17 year old get the money for an assault weapon and ammo?

It was reported that mom bought him the gun and drove him to the event. If true, she should be arrested as being complicit or an accessory. If true, not much can be said for a parent who gives them the money for an assault weapon, and drives him to a demonstration with the gun........

It is gonna get a lot worse, with the RepubliCONs, Trump and the police egging them on................

28. Trump Jugend

America's brand of Hitler Youth

I'm just surprised the kid wasn't given a space with Nick Sandmann in front of the Lincoln Memorial, speaking about what this country means to them.

Kyle Rittenhouse is more like Dylann Roof than Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook) and Eric Harris & Dyland Klebold (Columbine) who were more indiscriminate in their murder sprees.
