She picked him up and they got the hell out of there is probably the most likely scenario, if she was indeed the one who drove him.

I a) am not a lwayer, and b) don't know WI state law in particular anyhow.

But even given my ignorance, she is -- and should be -- in a world of shit, but likely not as big of one in reality and she should be in theory. Because prosecutors and police and bias and bullshit.

It's not likely. He may not even have an IL license, but it's not an open-carry state AFAIK.
If it's true that his mom drove him there, he's under-age, a lot of this is going to fall on her now.

17 year olds are not known for their decision making skills. I can’t even. I raised sons. WTF you idiotic mother. You drove your son and his assault rifle to an unstable scene. You killed 2 other mother’s sons. Shame the eff on you. Shame. Disgusting. Rot in prison. You both deserve it.

We are here in this shitshow because too many parents have been shirking responsibility after the basic act of gene-donation.

Hold parents responsible for the crap their kids are doing. And for heaven's sake, don't enable the crap by driving them to the scene of the crime! Where & how did this kid even get an assault rifle anyway?

This mom (and possibly dad) belongs in prison, doing hard time.

the get-away driver and others participating , even if they weren't the ones who pulled the trigger, can be charged with murder.

it seems they aren't rich enough to use the "affluenza" defense.

It does not matter if a criminal knows a co-conspirator intends to kill someone. They're on the hook as well. There are even instances where they get even more time than the person who actually pulled the trigger.

Mama will be facing felony charges. The person driving the getaway car for a bank robber who just killed a bank teller will also be charged with murder in many places. So...

Including maybe conspiracy charges.

I am betting money that is who he called on video and said that he killed someone.
