(7,447 posts)I think I'd have preferred two minutes of Joe talking directly to the camera though. A real time rebuttal of sorts since you can anticipate pretty easily some Trump attack lines.
But it's a great move to stick his nose in here.

(16,699 posts)The history of America is this...Native Americans are the TRUE citizens/settlers of this country.
White Europeans who came to these shores in the early 1600's to settle it were the interlopers. The first arrival of Africans that were brought to Jamestown in 1619, began the slave trade in America that would end in 1863, supposedly. The onslaught of White Europeans since then, we are all descendant of those Europeans who came here for a better life, while stealing it from those who had lived on this continent for hundreds of years prior.
Thus we are a nation of Immigrants. Joe and Kamala understand that. The past cannot be redone. Moving forward is the only path we have now, and they are that path.

(13,769 posts)... I'm afraid it speaks to my petty side. My FAVORITE part was the contrast between Joe running up a ramp (stairs?) and Trump being helped down a ramp. :-/
....and it was particularly neat to see how the ad included the footage of the Conman-in-Chief crawling down the ramp in contrast to Biden walking at a fast pace.

(19,143 posts)I think the Biden/Harris campaign needs to address the fear Trump is attempting to instill in voters. Republicans always run on fear, it's their stock and trade. They should show the kids in cages, police shooting unarmed Black men, the ensuing rioting and looting going on because of it, America's allies laughing at the orange buffoon behind his back, his love of brutal dictators, etc. etc. etc. Then Joe telling everyone, "this is Donald Trump's America, not mine. Your deepest fears will come true with four more years of Donald Trump".
Everyone knows that Joe is a decent, honest man and he'll work for all Americans. America needs to be shown what a monster Donald Trump is, and how he only works for Donald Trump and no one else. They should already know that as well, but some people need constant reinforcement.
Just my two cents.

(193 posts)Run an ad that hits at the essence of America, that it is an idea based on principles of freedom and opportunity for all during an RNC convention that is so totally bereft of ideas that they have no platform other than they all worship this shithead tRump!
Perfect!

(10,749 posts)Captures the essence of Biden, the essence of what it means to be an American.
And, yet, fully half the country will see that and find fault. People of color, LGBTQ, native Americans, immigrants, working people, unity. All concepts anathema to fascists.

(9,958 posts)All Trump can run on is hatred and fear. He has accomplished nothing productive for the country. I hope people take the polls showing Biden winning with a grain of salt. They are not perfect, and Biden needs not just a squeaker of a win but an overwhelming majority to counter Trumps cheating. I read an article in Slate this morning that lays out some scenarios that could result in the very election chaos that Trump is striving to achieve and some possible countermeasures. I plan to email it my local Democratic chair and to the state party. Its well worth reading because being forewarned of possibilities is important.

(5,869 posts)I think its the best political ad Ive seen since Reagans Morning in America. Its upbeat and sunny, and talks about what President Biden will do you bring us all back together.
Note: I didnt vote for Reagan and disagreed with a lot of his policies, but that was a great ad.
Note 2: I will crawl over broken glass to vote for Joe Biden.
