President Obama Works ‘47 Percent’ Into Stump Speech
President Obama has worked an attack on Mitt Romney's 47 percent comments into his stump speech and used them Saturday evening at a rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Without mentioning Mitt Romney by name, Obama referenced his 2008 victory speech to explain that he was the president of all Americans, not just those who voted for him.
"In 2008, 47 percent of the country didn’t vote for me," Obama said, according to remarks released by the White House. "But on election night I said to those Americans, I may not have won your vote, but I heard your voices, and I’ll be your President, too."
