Biden doesn't have an "Hispanic problem"

just because a majority of Hispanics in one state aren't for him. He has no more of an "Hispanic problem" than he has a "white problem" by virtue of the fact that a majority of white people in the country support Trump.

The Hispanic population is not a monolith. Unlike some other groups that generally have a shared history in America - like African-Americans, for example - Hispanics represent a much wider range of people with very different backgrounds and perspectives.

And the truth is that in Florida, a large segment of the Hispanic population identify primarily as white, have always been conservative, tend to vote Republican, and don't feel a deep attachment to (and often look down their noses at) black and brown Hispanics who are bearing the brunt of Trump's hateful policies.

Biden doesn't have a problem with those Hispanics. They have a problem with HIM. And more important, they DON'T have a problem with TRUMP.

If at this stage of the game, that group of Hispanics in Florida who are planning to vote, or are even thinking of voting for Trump, I don't think there's much that Biden or anyone else can say or do to change their minds. They feel aligned with Trump and his racist contingent and are too drunk from guzzling the Kool-Aid to be reached.

Cuban Americans in Florida, for the most part, have historically voted repub so doing so this time is nothing new so I am puzzled by the sudden focus on something that is not new nor unexpected.

I do think attempting to change minds is always a good thing, especially in a swing state that is always breathtakingly close, I am just not buying into the media's hyperbole on this, it doesn't track with me.

This is especially true in Florida

There are about one million Puerto Ricans in Florida who understandably very much favor Biden.

The Cuban population has a very divided view I think on who they favor, depending on generational, and other factors.

The South American Latino(a)'s make up yet another demographic whose views depend where they immigrated from

The African American community has been not only the most loyal Democratic group, but also the most "taken for granted" group, which I hope after what has been occurring will NEVER happen again

DeSantis sparked the socialism fear among Cubans and other Florida Hispanics in 2018 via the Gillum nomination, and then GOP surrogates continued to push that theme effectively and constantly on radio and social media over the past 2 years. It is only earning attention here now.

There is only so much that Biden or Harris can rescue at this stage, nor Bloomberg with all those millions. The socialism tag would have attached to any Democratic nominee.

Heck, they are using it right now against the Miami mayoral nominee Daniella Levine Cava. Her opponent Steve Bovo said he would refrain from calling her a socialist but I am seeing and hearing it all over the place now, on Miami forums and whenever I turn on local radio. That's the new reality in the Miami area, whether forums like this want to accept it or not. If you are a Democrat you are going to get the socialist tag, and the further left on the spectrum the more it will attach. A Bernie Sanders nomination would have wiped out Florida for the foreseeable.

I grew up with Cubans, I know their politics are similar to typical white people - some liberal, some conservative, but far more conservative than other Hispanic groups IMO. My half-nephew is a flat-Earther and Rump supporter. As you said, not a monolith.
