Acknowledge the mail-in ballot deadline
Fill out your ballot (in pen!)
Refold your ballot and place it in your Official Election Ballot envelope. Seal it, then place it in the larger voters declaration envelope.
Fill out your voters declaration envelope
Mail or turn in your ballot

It's the same way we do mail ballots in RI.

(5,042 posts)The only difference in Rhode Island is the privacy envelope has more information you need to fill out including witnesses.

(42,271 posts)At the polls, we can help folks who can't read (two workers, one Rep, one Dem, work together) or they can have someone of their own choosing help. Likewise, writing isn't required--even a signature can be a "legal mark".
So yes, you are right, but...(there is always a but, isn't there?)

(7,263 posts)Me, I like having the paper trail Mail in provides. I'll photocopy my ballot and put that in an envelope and have 2 or 3 other folks witness and sign.
Probably won't mean much but it gives me peace of mind.
BTW I work in the IT security arena - and no, in my professional opinion, the machines are STILL not tamper proof.
Good Luck and thanks for voting!

(11,794 posts)...and I agree. However, me voting in person has ZERO to do with my vote (My vote doesn't matter much in Indiana), and 100% with me making a statement.
