I can't watch the news much any more

At least not lately. It's so depressing. I fear that McConnell will push thru some Christian Taliban justice for the USSC. And there's nothing we can do about it, unless Biden gets sworn in, and we expand the SC to 15 justices. I feel like Republicans are poking a stick in my eye, while pissing on my feet, all the while laughing at me.

around them down.

I refuse to let doom and gloom soothsayers rule the day, and they never will.

There will always be challenges that will arise, and things that we must face that are unpleasant, in this world, but confront them we must.

I watch some local news and usually turn it off after the weather. I can’t stand the political stuff anymore. I know how I will vote once my mail-in ballot arrives.

that's elementary school stuff for them. They have now graduated to taking the same stick and shoving it where the sun doesn't shine.

They all repeat the mantra we have heard for years. For our side it is all talk. Did happen to see Schumer and Durbin with their sign. They looked foolish. You can tell Schumer and Durbin do not really know how to fight back. Slick Mitch just rolls over them with his smirky smile.

All day reruns of shows us boomers loved like Lucy, Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, The Jeffersons. Keeps me laughing and my mind off the horror of the news. In the evening they have a great show called Across The Decades which explores news events on this date (9/23) over the years.

Watching a naked power grab by tyranny of the minority is just too hard. Gives me time to do self care and other positive things to try to concentrate on promoting a progressive society.

Do something positive that will make you feel better such as volunteering for a local candidate, giving money, registering voters, or even sewing Trump voodoo dolls and sticking pins in them.

Never forget that there are more of us than them.

I read all my news and opinion.

It's a lot easier to skip the bullshit.

My wife and I disconnected our television entirely a few years later and only watched DVDs.

Later, one of our adult children, a huge fan of medium and low budget movies, hooked us up with Netflix.

21. Remember what Gen. Milley said

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley stated that the military had no dog in the political hunt. They are going to stay out of it and not help Trump do anything.

https://www.axios.com/milley-military-election-trump-biden-7b448425-07c0-4c43-b03b-96ba8d741f84.html

Also, the Joint Chiefs have their own website:

https://www.jcs.mil/

As long as the military stays out of it, we have a chance to fight for our country. The various police forces and state militias are likely to follow suit.

You know, I believe I could kick McConnell's ass. These people need other people to enforce what they say. (This goes back to that old 60s saying, "What if they gave a war and nobody came?&quot When asked what the military would do if Trump ordered them in, Milley said he does not follow illegal orders. He's a strict guy who follows the line. The military can't be used to suppress the citizens.

It won't be pleasant, but we can win. Don't give up! Vote!

Vote every last one of these traitors out of office.

They are actually "infotainment", a category of the video business that is crafted to evoke strong emotional responses in the viewer in order to keep the viewer glued to the screen through the many commercials.

If you want news, go to https://www.reuters.com/ and https://apnews.com/ to read the unfiltered wire service feeds. Some of it overlaps with the infotainment channel stories, but they have the advantage of needing to cover a wide breadth of stories -- they don't stay stuck permanently in one groove.

I also like https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/ which provides a lot of Agence France Presse stories for some non-US balance and perspective.
