Romneys remarks about emergency room care have drawn a rebuke from the American College of Emergency Physicians: http://OFA.BO/3H8M1r
Mitt Romneys comments in a CBS 60 Minutes interview Sunday that emergency rooms provide care to people who dont have insurance drew a rebuke from a group representing emergency-room doctors and a jab from the Obama campaign.
But the question and answer werent so clear.
Mr. Romney was asked whether he believed the government had a responsibility to provide health care to those who dont have it. He replied: Well, we do provide care for people who dont have insurance
If someone has a heart attack, they dont sit in their apartment and die. We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital, and give them care. And different states have different ways of providing for that care.
Earlier in the day, the American College of Emergency Physicians President David Seaberg said in a written statement that emergency care is not health insurance. The Obama campaign also released a web video Monday evening attacking Mr. Romneys response.
