Phone calls to swing states

I'm thinking of signing up this Sunday to call swing states. I'm a little shy about it and hate reading from scripts.

What has been your experience with phone calling parties? Did you enjoy it?

1. Here's how easy it is to telephone voters from scripts:

I brought my shy seven year old with me, to play with his toys while I made phone calls. After listening to me for 10 or 15 minutes, he asked if he could do it, too. And he did, for the rest of the time. People were VERY nice to him!

I'm not an extravert, don't love the phone, but I didn't think this was hard. The script actually makes it easier. Plus they only give you names of other Dems, so you're not going to run into any nastiness.
