7. Not really done that much in the US, particularly for prior office holders.

Some do but overall its pretty much a mixed bag. Reflects our national culture. Protocol is not our thing.

Some well known Americans do not even respect royal titles in foreign countries. One famous actress referred to Queen Elizabeth II as "Mrs Windsor".
