I visited a longtime friend this weekend. This guy is the most hardcore Trumper I've ever met, but we still get along when we're not discussing politics. However...
Rather than Trump 2020 stuff plastered everywhere, he just had a pro-police sign in his yard. And when the election did come up, all he did was groan and shake his head in response to Trump, and didn't even say anything about Biden. He'll still probably vote for Trump, but his change in tone since this time last year is marked.
And the next day I went to my dad's house. He's a long-time Republican, though him and my stepmom switched to Beto in 2018.
I was very surprised to find...a Biden/Harris sign in their yard.
I know these are just two anecdotal examples, but I have a good feeling. I think Texas could finally go blue.

(47,141 posts)certainly worth noting. I have to say this: anyone defending Trump at this point of their own free will, is a dangerous person. By that I mean they have serious issues, could be unpredictable.

(1,789 posts)Always has to get some comment in about whatever right wing podcast he has on his earphones. He made fun of how Biden said "millions" instead of "thousands" of covid-19 deaths. Me, I'd rather have a president get numbers wrong if we all live. Anyway, today is the quietest he has ever been, not even a comment on another topic like he does during a typical Trump scandal. Tax story has longer legs than Jessica Rabbit.

(145,130 posts)Yards signs do not vote but I am seeing far fewer trump signs in my neighborhood I had one of the few Clinton signs in my nighborhood and there were 7 or 8 trump signs on my street. I have a Biden sign up and there are no trump signs on my street. There is one Black Lives Matter sign and Any Consenting Adult sign on my street.. I have seen far more signs for a state house race and for the racists Congressional candidate compared to trump signs.

(19,193 posts)with a lack of Trump support. Many people jumped on the Trump train in 2016 and were "proud" of their decision. They went completely goofy over Mango Mussollini. This time they might not be as "proud", but that doesn't mean they're not going to support him. They're much more discreet this time. I do think he's lost some support and gained absolutely none though.

(25,258 posts)This is includes weekly Trump Trains all over the Bexar County. There was a loud one in our quiet neighborhood and they had sirens and were flipping the bird to women and children. I dropped past a bar in Comal/Bexar County Line: :Good is Great, Beer is Good, Democrats are Crazy". They have this Interstate Drag (i35) for Trump. Latinos for Trump weekly Trump Train, Rolling Oaks for Trump Train, North San Antonio Trump Train. They also have neighborhood parades on a weekly basis. It's like the 3rd Riech around here.
You should see what's going on in New Braunfels: https://www.expressnews.com/news/local/article/Trump-Train-is-a-regular-party-in-New-Braunfels-15595815.php?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=facebook.com

(984 posts)I live two miles north of the Alamo. No Trump signs in my neighborhood, just Dem ones. A couple of days ago I drove Nacogdoches from 410 to Austin highway, which goes through some really posh real estate, and there were only two houses with Trump signs. There were LOTS of Wendy Davis signs, but only one Chip Roy one.

Trying to remember the streets I lived on. W. Rosewood, W. Mistletoe, McCullough.

(25,258 posts)We had a Trump Train go throw the neighborhood on Sunday morning...They had sirens and were speeding and were giving the finger to women and children. It's pretty gross out here.
Surrounding neighborhoods aren't bad, but this neighborhood is a red magnet.

She's also demanding her husband and kids help vote Trump out. And knowing her, they'll do it.

(210 posts)My father just retired from the defense industry after 50 years. He's gone from a life-long Republican that believed Trump could do no wrong to calling family telling them how dangerous Trump is. He plans on voting straight Dem, and was literally calling family tonight to get others to do the same.
I live in Plano, which has a reputation of being rich, snooty and Republican. Biden signs are sprouting EVERYWHERE. There is a lone Trump sign (Well, 2 Trump signs, a Trump flag, a "Come and take it" flag and a church sign) on our block. But also on the block? 8 houses with Biden signs, a BLM flag and a Biden flag.
Previous elections you were taking a risk of losing a rear window if you put a sticker on it. This election? I've gotten multiple people honking and giving me a thumbs-up at mine.
It feels like some alien landscape, but the tide has changed.

(1,288 posts)Trump's whole postelection shitshow would die before it can get off the ground. Those electoral votes would be a stake through the heart that his conspiracy theories couldn't overcome. Hopefully, Beto was a trial run and the result can bump a few points higher.

(155 posts)To win Texas, Dems and their allies must GOTV in large numbers and then Texas will flip. The Latino and young vote is what can make the difference.

(468 posts)Corpus Christi, and each time we ride we see more Biden/Harris signs, and fewer Trump signs. In fact, the Trump signs are decreasing in number each time, each time. We have given away all our signs, and ordered more.
