Somehow I got on a GOP list, and am now getting at least one text per hour begging for money

That always works for me when I get unsolicited texts.

'I wouldn't donate to a Republican even if my own mother was running!"

Didn't get anymore after that.

I'm still getting the mailings though. Got one from Melania yesterday. I like getting those because I know it's costing them cash money!

I added a lot of expletives as a reply on several of these and I still get them.

It has occurred to me these odd lapses on the airwaves owe to stations having learned to insist on cash in front, possibly with vigorish for the previous debt incurred as well, before a second's time is run.

From Democratic sources. Candidates in races far away I can't vote for, and many type of organizations. They all are begging at this point. Hate it! Give what I can, but it's really too much

ACT like you need to talk to a person one-on-one to secure the details of a BIG donation you wish to make and just keep repeating the same schtick until you get them to hand a phone to Trump...then scream "FUCK YOU IMBECILE!!!" into his ear and hang up...

A lot of work yes...but the pay-off will be sublime!!!

How we got on that list is a mystery. I went to double check on the Secretary of State's site and we're still listed as Democrats.

Silly, but it amuses me.

I have NEVER donated to any Repub and I wish I could find out how they got my number. I even thought that Trump provided my cell phone numbers from that data base of numbers collected for emergency notifications last year.

If so that would be such a huge criminal act - not that I would put it past him.

I did that in 2012 when I was getting GOP spam by email and phone calls. They all stopped within 48 hours and I have not received a single contact from any GOP campaign since.

I respond with a text saying how pleased I am that they reminded me to send a donation to their opponent. Hasn’t worked to stop the texts, but it makes me feel better.

Probably 75% of them no longer email me, but Lindsey and McConnell still do. I just ignore them, but I hate to have either name on my screen.

What is it, 46 days to go? Then, we may have some peace and quiet.

It's usually surveys asking for money, so I fill them out, and then say I can't send money because Trump and McTurtle have bankrupted me.

In the comments section, I say get rid of the complete leadership and get back to the Republican Party that was great and made America proud--the Republican Party of Theodore Roosevelt. I said I could never vote Republican again until that was accomplished.


I never said I WAS a Republican (they never ask, they just assume, maybe for my Dallas zip code?), and I DID vote Republican once--the very first time I voted, in fact. I'm still proud of it, since it was a vote against the corrupt police commissioner of Philadelphia running for mayor against a colorless, but perfectly reasonable Republican named Thatcher Longstreth. Frank Rizzo was a real buffoon, a nasty gorilla with a gun and a nightstick. He ran as a Democrat because in those days, Philly didn't even know there even WAS another party. He did everyone a favor after winning the election by switching parties. Once a Republican, he was finally in his element, started hanging with Nixon, and building a house costing ten times his salary, and showing that true Republican sleaze.
