we all suspect this last year....
Rand will not last past his term if he keeps up his plans to mess with SS and MedCare MedCade.

(3,709 posts)didn't vote for the bastard...and I ask myself everyday what the hell were the people of this state thinking.
Biggest problem, our very good AG...Jack Conway, was just too green a candidate and had horrid campaign management. The race was lost in the last couple of weeks after a very stupid commercial attacking Rand Paul for a college situation. Granted a woman said she was 'detained' by Rand and a friend...if I remember correctly, she recanted later...all a college prank but the damage was done to Conway for taking that route. Internals had him ahead at time. Really, really bad campaign management.

Like his dad Ron.... Rand is bull headed and of low realm count...not enough lifes experiences for the Senate slot...
he is a rookie in a series position.....this is not like it supposed to be...

(307 posts)The problem is not so much with SS as it is with Medicare and Medicaid.
Everyone knows (or should know) that non-discretionary (entitlement) spending is unsustainable as currently structered.
http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/budget/91161-congressional-budget-office-fiscal-policy-is-unsustainable
But neither side wants to "go first," with respect to doing something about it.

So, there is no doubt that they will simply continue to kick that can down the street until they arrive at the dead-end. Their solution to the problem is very similar to playing musical chairs. They don't plan to be around when the music stops playing.
The question is: where will the rest of us be?
