Amy Coney Barret had covid this summer

We know very little about this virus (granted we are learning more and more)

But Amy is at the White House sat/sun then at congress and now all these cases.

My own friend Had covid once. Doctor's said she was over it then got it again. Her doctor and others are wondering if this virus might go dormant and then comes back out.

Maybe it is a maybe not.

2. There is no lasting immunity

My understanding is that there is a small block of time after recovery where your reinfection rate is minimal but there have been a number of documented cases of reinfection. My sense is that like the flu the virus mutates and one can become sick again. Herd immunity is a fallacy. When an immunization is available most likely we will need yearly shots like the flu vaccine. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and just sharing what I have learned from my obsessive reading over the last number of months.

seen before. She said once they thing they got a handle on what they are seeing the virus throws a curve ball,

3. Going dormant is a common virus response.

Shingles and HSV-1/2 are two common examples. Probably more. I haven’t read anything that confirms it’s a one and done virus. Maybe but it seems like that point is still to be learned.

6. When? Beginning of Sept? I mean that was still summer.

7. They didn't say just some time/ early summer I've heard both phrases used.

8. They can catch it again and/or still shed virus

weeks later, and test positive later after having tested negative. This virus seems less like the flu and more like those recurring viruses that cannot be cured, just managed. Like HIV or hepatitis.
