Hypothetically the GOP could select a different candidate to run instead of Pence.

13. What about faithless elector laws

I think the Supreme Court has upheld them. You would hope they wrote provisions for a dead candidate in the law.

15. There are only seven states with laws that prohibit a faithless vote.

The rest either have some modest fine or no penalty at all.

Those states (Michigan is one of them) will likely go the Supreme Court. In prior ruling the SCOTUS has said their ruling don't apply to a situation where an ineligible candidate has been voted for likely leaving open the option to strike down laws without an exception for when a candidate has died.

Regardless it almost certainly would go to the Supreme Court.

Along with Putin directing tRUMP to pick Pence?

Also, Pence was the alleged hot shot running the COVID-19 Task Force, so how did that experiment turn out?
