Question on a Jon Huntsman scenario..

I know it's unlikely but on the waaaaayyyy off chance Huntsman gets the GOP nom, what do we do? How do we handle him?

My opinion: We have to go toe to toe on issues. We would have to be careful on negativity, after all he did work in the Obama administration. He's personable, he's not a villain like the rest of that crew.

I think the debates would be very interesting, I don't think you'll see the usual digs, they'll hi-lite what makes them different and why they're better, but the nasty undertone won't be there, in my opinion.

Thoughts?

.... which effectively gets rid of Medicare, once upon a time considered a third rail..... I don't think it will go over well with most Americans.

could be quite informative.
No negativity, which is certainly consistent with PrezO's preference, and finally c/would be all about the difference in philosophies, which would provide us an interesting chance to do what we'd like to do (me, anyway,) really debate and discuss our differing points of view.

Might be counter-intuitive that I'm pulling for him to make a good showing in NH, but I like NH, New England generally, and think New Hampshirites study carefully.

discussing issues. With most campaigns issues are lost in all the nastiness, the hit ads, the personal insults.

We shut out ditzes, and numbskulls. Make right wing fundamentalists look as insane as they are.

Obama will still win, but all the loonies will be looking for non punditz positions. Primarily lobbyists.

So Obama would have to stick to domestic stuff, the economy, jobs, plus social issues. But Obama doesn't have to worry, Jon Huntsman is too smart for the Republicans to nominate.

Did he capture Bin Laden, rid Libya of Kadaffi and end the Iraq War?

Just curious as to why a Republican only has to have served overseas in order to "match" the current President's accomplishment, and if so, why such the low bar in coming out equal from someone that I would assume is a Democrat....like you?
I don't get it.

He's a Mormon, so the fundies don't like him, and the teabaggers are prepared to hate him because he was hired by Obama and he is occasionally sane. He might attract some of the less deranged independents, but his relative lack of lunacy might inspire someone else (Santorum? Paul?) to run as a third-party candidate. That would be a good thing for us.
