My thoughts are, Yes the SC. wants to get rid of Roe v Wade ( for sure) BUT

I just wonder where it all ends? Will they get rid of insurance for all? ( i'm not sure) Will they rule on RUMPS loss? ( i say NO!) I really think they are using RUMP like russia is using him. When they are ALL on the SC, i'm betting they will NOT rule for RUMP! They gotta hate him as much as we do. So we'll see huh? VOTE VOTE VOTE tho. like our life depends on it!!!!

2. We can blunt the SC if we worked hard to win all state legislatures.

If SCOTUS votes against either, that will throw it all back to the states. Hence, the importance of voting in ALL state and local elections as I have been screaming since 2000. The sooner will learn that and educate our base about it the faster we will take control.

is what choice is... That a federal matter. We would need to pass laws and if SCOTUS obstructs or rules politically we add justices to all courts period. McConnel denied Merrick Garland even a vote and refused to confirm any justices on lower courts for Obama...so fuck them. They packed the courts.

3. They're Playing The Long Game

They'll be in control of the Court for years and perhaps a decade or even more.

I think their concern is more with overturning Roe and ACA, and less on appeasing Drumpf. Yes, I agree, they are happy he put them there, but if he doesn't survive this election, they won't sweat over it.

Different somewhat than 2000 in that there they hadn't yet held power for several years, and essentially had their way all that time. They were coming off 8 years of Clinton, and wanted the WH desperately. And Shrub, as of then, still had a reputation far better than Drumpf does now.

I try to deal with the here and now. And here and now, there are probably 6 Conservatives and 3 Liberals.

Could I be wrong? Of course. But I've been through a couple of recent decades of hearing this and that, and ending up screwed. When it looks closer to a reality, I'll celebrate. Until then, it's 6 Conservatives and 3 Liberals, and we're screwed.

5. States rights will prevail?

Is my guess. Woman in red states may rise up and fight for those rights the pukes judge to be wrong.

have happened if the government had not passed the civil rights bill? You think rising up at the state level would have worked? I say it wouldn't then and it won't now.

survive. I don't think there will be a basis to contest the election. It's not likely to end like 2000 with 600, or so, votes at stake.

Roe, I'm sure there will be some impact and some people will be hurt and disadvantaged. But, something will be worked out in most but the deepest rube states. There will be less of those if we vote heavily. There are also options for Biden and Democrats to bolster Roe.

It IS possible to make it (Abortion rights) the law of the land AFTER Biden wins and we get BOTH houses! THEN the SC has NO CHOICE anymore right? We CAN play this game!

I guess you don't have to worry about being told you can't have an abortion to save your life while you are hemorrhaging from a miscarriage.
