Help with militaristic nutjob...

Original Status from me: Ok, let's get this right....There is a bill in the House right now that would put 1,000,000 to work tomorrow, but the Republicans are tying it to the tax cut extension for the wealthy. Do you understand who you are supporting?

Renie: Now, give me a non-party serving reason this bill should not have passed. If Republicans are so damned interested in putting people back to work, why have they not come up with ONE...See More

Nutjob: I saw so many signs up for help wanted this week. It's not that there aren't jobs its that people don't want to work. I saw jobs for everything from landscaper to electrician to truck driver and I didn't see any likes forming to get hired. Why work when unemployment pays so well for so long?

Renie: And Doug...did you even bother to READ the bill?

Nutjob: Listen. If you do not have to work than you probably won't. If unemployment keeps getting longer and longer "Obama" than people won't work. When someone is forced to either be great or fail you would be amazed at what I know about the human race. People become great. Those that are worth a shit. The others make exscuses. You won't believe that and that's fine. But which of us has had a greater perspective on the human race? I've been to 16 different countries. Led hundreds of men, in peacetime and war, saved lives and taken them. I have had to make decisions that effect an entire community not only an individual. My perspective is spot on. It's ugly and no one wants it to be true but un fortunately it is. Have a great day

Renie: Doug, what happens when I hop on Google and find people who were in the military longer and at a higher level who disagree with you? Cause we both know that I can and will. Who is right then?

Renie: And I kind of resent being treated like some little girl with no experience in life because I didn't join the military. Believe it or not, the military might just not be the most unbiased slice of life.

I would like some examples of career military who DON'T think people are all a bunch of lazy bums, but I am having a hard time finding them. I am thinking of Wesley Clark, Colin Powell, etc. I KNOW they have to have said stuff that contradicts this guy, but can't find anything that quite fits.

Me: I am sorry, Doug, you are going to have to explain that. I don't understand it. If it is not the responsibility of the federal government to lower unemployment and help create jobs, why do Republicans blame Obama for unemployment figures? If lowering taxes, the ONLY solution offered so far by Republicans, raises hiring...where are the jobs? The top tier of taxpayers and corporations have paid historically low tax rates for the past decade. What would lowering them MORE do?

Doug, if that were true, then unemployment would NEVER go below what it is now. You get that, right? If the problem is human nature, "humans are all just lazy slackers", why has unemployment EVER been below 8%? Also, you are AGAIN saying that unemployment isn't Obama's fault.

You have a really shitty view of the human race. Or at least the human race that isn't exactly like you. Actually, that's the problem with a lot of Republicans. THEY are the ONLY people who want to work hard. THEY are the only GOOD Americans. Anybody who isn't doing what THEY are doing is a freeloader or a bum or just doesn't want to work.

Ew.

Him: Listen. If you do not have to work than you probably won't. If unemployment keeps getting longer and longer "Obama" than people won't work. Sorry, anyone who talks about taking lives is full of shit. No veteran who has ever done that casually talks about it like its a golf game or something.

votevets.org. And friend Jon Soltz. He has crazy awesome counterpoints to these idiots!

And I agree with the poster who calls B.S. on that guys service. My father was in the first class of Green Berets. He was in that role for 16 years as a Delta Force guy. Only the men he served with, my mom, and now me (he died August of 2011) after he let me get my tapes really know what he was up to . . . And where he was . . .
