5. If you don't want your congressman to serve for 36 years, don't vote to re-elect him or her.

See how easy it is? Choice is good.

6. I have an idea... Once you've made X dollars from your "service" to your country, it's time to go.

How many cast a vote for the Presidency based on party, and how many vote for down-ticket offices just because it's what they've known for most of their lives?

The more seniority you have in either house means the more juice you have...

CURRENTLY serving House/Senate combined UNINTERRUPTED TIME:

56 years+ uninterrupted time: 1
53 years+ uninterrupted time: 1
47 years+ uninterrupted time: 1
41 years+ uninterrupted time: 2
39 years+ uninterrupted time: 3
37 years+ uninterrupted time: 6

49+ years Senate uninterrupted time: 1
37+ years Senate uninterrupted time: 1

56+ years House uninterrupted time: 1
47+ years House uninterrupted time: 1
41+ years House uninterrupted time: 2
39+ years House uninterrupted time: 2
37+ years House uninterrupted time: 2

These leeches are outside of my vote. They have served, some of them, longer than I've been alive. Things in this country keep getting worse and worse. WHEN is it time to strip the old bark and let new bark see the light of day? THEY AREN'T HELPING MAKE THINGS BETTER.

I'd bet my BOTTOM dollar though that things are not only better for THEM, but for the next few generations of their FAMILIES.

2. As much as Todd Platts pissed me off, he did stick to his "4-term" limit - the one he proposed.

That seat's open (but likely to go R). At least he subjected himself to the standard he wanted to become law.

Congress is NOT going to vote for term limits and you won't get the state legislators to vote for Federal term limits either, too many either owe favors to their Federal counterparts or want to run for Congress themselves, so I can't see a Constitutional amendment for term limits meeting the 2/3 of the state legislatures requirement either.

We lost Tom Foley (D) over term limits. Then the scum who got in based on his support for term limits gave all the constituents the bird and told them to eat shit.

What a fucking douche liar he (Netherregion) is. But that is expected, he is GOP.

8. Term limits is a stupid idea.

The people that push the idea vote the same people in election after election. But they want politicians that they oppose term limited. The solution is educated, informed voters. But republicans hate educated, informed voters.

9. Term limits wouldn't help anything...

Instead of "we'll donate to your campaign for the next election", it will become "what are your plans for when your term limits are up? We'd sure like to have a former congressperson working with us."
