Besides repealing Obamacare, cutting taxes, and slashing government spending, Mitt Romney has apparently attached himself to another pet project: Fighting Lyme disease.

According to the Weekly Standard, voters in Northern Virginia received a campaign mailer from Romney promising to "fight the spread of Lyme disease," something the campaign called a "serious problem that demands immediate attention."... more

And it's definitely a terrible disease whose hot zone is getting bigger, and we don't know a lot about it... experts claim it can't go chronic, but through my girlfriend, I met a few people who claimed that it had, herself included. It's a scary sickness and needs more attention and research needs to go into it... that said, people with Lyme have a very hard time proving disability even though it can be crippling; it's not unheard of for lymies to become unable to work; and their medical costs can skyrocket...and even though chronic lyme isn't recognized by the IHSA as a real thing, lyme's still a preexisting condition, so... yeah, research and attention is good... taking health care away from people who have this thing? F*ck you, Romney.
